For the planned development of city, through Uttar Pradesh Development and Planning act 1973, Moradabad Development Authority (MDA) came into being on 29th march 1981.

 

To solve the ever increasing housing problem, MDA planned the development of many residential colonies. Some of them are listed below

MDA has also developed Azad Nagar on Sambhal Road and Mansarovar on Delhi Road. keeping in view the demand and needs MDA has created plots and built houses for people from different income groups. MDA has also built houses for homeless at the daily installment of Rs. 10-15/-. Thus, by creating approximately 13000 different properties, MDA has contributed in controlling the increasing population and their housing needs.
 

MDA has also undertaken lots of the developmental programs. These include the construction of Community Center, Swimming Pool, Commercial Shopping Centers. MDA has also allotted land for the construction of schools and has also developed 116 parks, which has contributed towards the beautification of the city. MDA accepts public maps for immediate action under sections 14 & 15 of City Planning and Development Act 1973. Besides, action is taken against illegal construction done by public under the mentioned sections of U.P. City Planning and Development Act 1973.
 

The Transport City plan has been developed separately by MDA with a view of planned arrangement at one place of several Mechanics and Transports lying here and there and the solution of traffic problem in the city. This plan includes main fundamental facilities such as Petrol Pumps, Banks, Fire Station, Dharamkanta, Hospital, Bus Terminal, Taxi, Workshop etc., along with the Transport office.
 

MDAs most ambitious project New Moradabad is proposed on about 890.61 acre land and which will include different types of plots/development and construction of flats, commercial plots. School plots will be developed for the education of allotted peole's children and also community facilities such as Nursing home, Hospital community centre , Post office/ courier office, telephone, petrol pump, hotel / restaurant, Electricity Sub Station, Police Station, Fire Station, Stadium, Bus terminal/ taxi/workshop, etc. will be provided to the allotted people.
