What's Infrared?

 

Infrared is a convenient, inexpensive technology that lets you effortlessly connect your phone to other Infrared- enabled devices, such as computers or phones, and share date easily. Infrared lets you enjoy all the benefits offered by Bluetooth - at an even faster date rate! A host of Nokia phones support Infrared functionality.

 

Getting Started

If your phone is Infrared enabled*, you first need to activate it before you can start transferring data. (Check out if your phone is Infrared enabled or not).

 

To Use Infrared

Infrared Technology requires you to place the Infrared port* of your phone in line with the Infrared port of the device you want to transfer date to.

Connection Range

10 meters

1 meter and an angle of 30°.

Line-of Sight

Does not require a line - of - sight connection (it can go through walls, too).

Requires a line-of-sight connection (it can not go through walls).

Security

Transfer does not occur without your confirmation. So you can be sure that your date is safe and that you are protected from unauthorized Files.

Transfer does not occur unless you aim the Infrared port of your device at the Infrared port of the other device. This gives you complete control over date transfers, thereby providing enhanced security.

A wide range of Nokia phones support Bluetooth*.
