"THE MOUTH OF THE SOUTH" JIMMY HART
Jimmy Hart was born on
1/1/44 in Memphis, TN. He was a member of the
band The Gentrys whose song Keep on Dancing was
a big hit in 1965. Jimmy was brought into the
wrestling business by Jerry Lawler. In 1982,
Jimmy Hart managed Andy Kaufman in his legendary
feud against Jerry Lawler. In 1985, Jimmy made
his debut in the WWF
The Mouth of the South:
Jimmy Hart’s trademark was bringing a megaphone
to the ring. In addition to driving the fans
crazy with it, he would also use it to hit his
opponents with. For eight years, he was one of
the best heel managers in the WWF and had many
champions to his credit. In 1993, he made the
switch over to face when he defended the injured
Brutus Beefcake from Money Inc. He would manage
Hulk Hogan for a brief period before they both
left the WWF.
A Friend of The
Hulkster:
Before returning to the ring, Jimmy Hart was
a recurring character on Hulk’s show Thunder in
Paradise. Jimmy was with Hulk when he was signed
by WCW in 1994. He turned on Hulk a year and a
half later to join The Dungeon of Doom. After a
brief stint with the Dungeon, Jimmy worked
behind the scenes as a composer of ring music.
In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of
Fame.
